FERO SUPPORTS LOCAL TOWN CENTRE INITIATIVE

FERO is delighted to support a local initiative in Letchworth that will see empty retail spaces handed over to the local community for arts, culture and heritage projects or learning activities. The Letchworth Culture Project, led by the Letchworth Heritage Foundation (LHF), aims to showcase all forms of culture throughout the town – acting as a catalyst for emerging talent to take the next step in their careers and create a thriving cultural centre for local residents to enjoy.

FERO has designed and produced impactful promotional windows free of charge for key sites in Letchworth town centre.  These attention grabbing displays have been designed to ensure as many people as possible in Letchworth know about the project and can apply.

Richard Saysell, Managing Director at FERO commented: ‘We are passionate about helping to develop thriving retail environments and revitalising the high street, which is why we got in touch with the LHF last year. We were delighted to use our expertise to create these window schemes to help raise awareness of the project and drive footfall into the town centre. Quite apart from our vested interest in the high street, it is really important for us to invest in our local community, where most of our workforce live, to ensure we are giving back whenever we can.’

The first projects have been designed to be ‘lockdown proof’ with exhibitions being safely viewed through shop windows from the outside but for future projects, and as restrictions ease, the goal is for people to use these spaces in more varied and innovative ways - hosting events, performances, workshops, classes, all, and any kind of cultural activity you can think of.

The Letchworth Culture Project is open to applications from anyone who lives, works, or is based in Letchworth. If you have an idea for a creative project, heritage related event or other cultural or learning activity then visit letchworthcultureproject.org for more information and to apply.

Saysell added: ‘We look forward to seeing the culture trail develop over the coming months and continuing to support Letchworth Heritage Foundation with this exciting project.’
